Happy that February is over? Do you feel a hint of spring in the air yet? I saw my first daffodils earlier this week, and was able to shed the gloves during one of my morning walks. True, it’s just as freezing and blustry again today, but it’s so gloriously sunny that I am convinced that winter is having its last fling.
So, in the belief that spring is on its way, the theme for this month’s Biscuit Barrel is:
Herbs and Flowers
Let’s start thinking about gardens coming to life, the world in flower, Easter, and all the joys that come with the arrival of warm weather.
Any item, sweet or savoury, that can fit into a biscuit container qualifies for the challenge, so think creatively!
The Biscuit Barrel Challenge rules:

Make Spring blossom in your kitchen this month!
1. St. Clement’s Cakes (gluten-free) from The Gluten-Free Alchemist
2. Chive-Gruyere Gougeres from The Lass in the Apron
Oh yes! tricky one! Am really going to have to think this month!!!
I know, for my own part, that I don’t very often think about herbs in connection with baking, which is really quite a shame. We used to make pine nut-rosemary biscuits at one of the bakeries I worked at, and they were utterly delicious. Now flowers . . . well, I use rosewater a lot, which I think should count.
